I spent 3 weeks learning French with Geneviève and I could not be more satisfied with the progress that I made. At first French seemed like a very complicated language but due to Geneviève’s comprehensive and clear lessons, I was able to communicate very soon. I was really pleased with Genviève’s patience in the lessons. During the week I would have 3 hours of individual French lessons in the morning, afterwards I was free to do what I liked. I felt right at home in Genviève’s nice apartment which was located in a great part of town as it was in walking distance to any of the museums and beaches Nice has to offer. The atmosphere was very relaxed and pleasant. There was a great balance between hard work and relaxation (lying on the beach). Not to forgot, the food was excellent!!! I also met very many nice international people in Nice with whom I would try to improve my French. For me the trip was really amazing and enjoyable. I really thank Genviève for the great and memorable time I had there.

Thank you so much for your patience and great teaching abilities. I really had a great time learning from you. I learned so much!! Each day was a new topic, but I understood each new topic as we went along so it was very fulfilling for me. My head was full! I was not sure what to expect when I started out on my journey, but it was much more than I had hoped for. The one on one lessons are irreplaceable with other forms of learning. It was a great way to reacquaint myself with French and move quickly forward to the next level. I only wish I could have stayed longer. Being able to practice my French with you on a day to day basis outside of formal lesson time was a great gift because you were so patient with me.

I am missing your wonderful cooking. I did make a Salad Nicoise on the weekend - but it is just not the same. Meal times were always fun with a variety of people to talk to and practice with. It was really wonderful staying in your very lovely home. An extra bonus I had not considered before going is how close your home is to all the attractions in Nice. I walked everywhere and it made the vacation all the more enjoyable. This was a great vacation for me.

The summer of 2008 was truly unforgettable for my brother and I. We arrived in Nice from Canada at the beginning of August, having great hopes of learning the French language with Geneviève. However, at that time, we had no idea where our stay in France would lead us.

Every morning, we began with our French language courses with Geneviève. It was 4 hours a day of grammar, vocabulary, culture, and both written and oral exercises. How horrible! Right? On the contrary, these four hours were always very enjoyable. Using songs, role plays, and magazine and newspaper articles, Geneviève insured that the courses were always interesting. More importantly, we laughed a lot.

In the afternoons, we were either on the famous beaches of Nice or with Geneviéve, travelling to see one of the hundreds of tourist sites in the area. Dinner was always back at Genevièves house and her cooking was so tasty and delicious! Even today, I miss her cooking. During the night, we went out to Old Nice. Nights in Nice are full of life and people. Nice is truly a city that never sleeps.

All of that is to say that our time in Nice was incredible. I have no doubt that we will return one day to this city that we fell in love with. Thank you Geneviève.

I was a little bit nervous at moving from Canada to Nice, France for a year, but Genevieve went over and above to make me feel comfortable, and went to enormous lengths to help my husband and I get settled into Nice.

The captivating views, gorgeous climate, and rich history, made each day in Nice an adventure, with countless things to see and to experience. When I first arrived, I had the opportunity to stay with Genevieve for 4 weeks, and to also learn french from her during that time. Genevieve is an incredible teacher, who has the ability to encourage, but to also challenge you forward in the goal of learning french. She made me feel right at home, and I always looked forward to meal times which were rich in flavour and variety.

Genevieve has been instrumental in making my time in France an experience that I will remember for the rest of my life.

I have just returned from the most marvelous vacation/learning experience where, along with three of my friends, all of us women of a certain age’ to one extent or another, I spent two weeks being immersed in everything French chez Genevieve. We are not your typical French language students in that we don’t need it for work or to achieve a diploma. Rather, we love France, French cuisine, French customs, the French language…you get the idea. At home, we have weekly get-togethers to try to improve our speaking and comprehension skills, but we don’t have the opportunity to speak French with anyone who really speaks it well. Moreover, since we wanted to make a quantum leap and also have an excuse for a trip to France, all four of us descended on Genevieve and said, ‘make us better’. And she certainly did! We studied grammer, we read and discussed current magazine articles, we learned that to “etre cloue au lit” doesn’t mean to be nailed to the bed but rather to be ill. We watched the historic debate between Sago and Sako before the presidential elections, which was very exciting. We had classes in the mornings, hit the museums or flea markets in the afternoons and ate Genevieve’s magnificient meals in the evenings.

The conversation around the dinner table was, to me, almost as helpful as the morning classes. Genevieve corrected us when our grammer went totally off track, but for the most part, we talked, we sang, we laughed…we communicated in French! On the weekend, accompanied by Genevieve and her friend Pierre (who is as patient as a saint and a wonderful chef himself) we went to Entrevaux, a charming medieval town in the back country.To study French in an atmosphere such as this is as good as it gets.

Genevieve’s apartment is spacious, lovely and welcoming, situated in the center of Nice and convenient to everything. And Genevieve herself is a truly gifted teacher -- patient, adept at communicating, and possessing a splendidly wicked sense of humor. I consider her a friend and fully intend to return next year for another two weeks (or more) ‘pour parler francais.’

One doesn’t have to be young, a student, or speak fluent French to take advantage of a French immersion course with the wonderful Genevieve. One only has to love France.

８０歳という年齢からして、おそらく私はGenevièveの生徒の中で最年長だと思います。今回友人３人と、２週間彼女のフランス語レッスンを受講しました。この経験は本当に素晴らしく、忘れられない思い出となりました。私達はGenevièveのアパートに滞在し、毎晩美味しい食事をしながら、お喋り（“フランス語の夕べ”とでもいいましょうか）を楽しみました。彼女はユーモアのセンスと教師としての才能を合わせ持ち、毎回とても充実した授業をしてくれました。皆さんにも自信をもってこのプログラムをお勧めしたいと思います。

I am a retired science teacher learning French for interest with my wife, also a retired teacher and a natural linguist. I, to put it mildly, am not! We are taking the english examination 'AS French' this year.

I spent a week with Geneviéve this spring to improve my oral and listening ability (it is impossible to get enough speaking practice in 2 hour weekly evening classes), and to go through some of the more difficult parts of French grammar.

The teaching was excellent, with well structured lessons supported by clear and informative (and at times fun) teaching material. Most importantly, Geneviéve was very patient with this linguistically struggling scientist and appeared not to mind correcting the same mistake many times.

I was a little concerned before arriving at having both one-to-one lessons and full board with Geneviéve. Would we have too much time face-to-face? This turned out not to be a problem as her apartment has space for 6 guests and, with the other students plus her friends and family dropping in, we had very varied and lively meal times. The food (and wine) was good. I liked the accommodation. My room was light, airy and comfortable, and there are ample showers etc. Nice is justifiably famous and does not need me to extol its delights. Just let me say I enjoyed the two excursions with Geneviéve and the three afternoons by myself visiting the delightful parks and gardens of this beautiful city.

The 'package' provided by Genviéve is best summarized by the fact that I want to come again next year, this time with my wife, as we are planning to take 'A2 French' - and we are paying for everything ourselves!

私はニースの広く快適なGenevièveのアパートでフランス語を学ぶという最高の経験をすることができました。彼女に暖かく歓迎され、ステイ中は最高のもてなしを受けました。あまりにも居心地がよくて、勉強しに来ているというより一緒に住んでる友達にフランス語を教わっているような感覚さえ覚えました。週日は午前中３時間、Genevièveの個人レッスンを受けました。私のフランス語は初級だったので、Genevièveは私にできるだけ多くの動詞を教えてくれ、丁寧に文法の説明をしてくれました。フランス語の文法は複雑で私にはとても難しいのですが、語学上達のためには基礎が一番肝心だと思います。Genevièveの楽しい授業のお陰で、毎回３時間という時間もあっという間に過ぎてしまいました。覚えることが多すぎて自分の上達に不安を感じていたのですが、１ヵ月後家に戻る頃には、最初に思っていたよりずっと自分のフランス語が上達していることに気づきました。

ニースでの滞在は本当に至福の時間でした。国際色豊かなニースには、ギャラリー、美術館、オールドニース、ジムなど多くの見所があり、私はそれら全ての醍醐味を満喫しました。Genevièveのアパートは立地がよく、ビーチ、店、レストラン、映画館、美術館、ギャラリーなど徒歩圏内に多くの見所があります。週末にはニースや近郊の名所に連れて行ってくれて、本当に楽しい時間を過ごしました。なんといってもGenevièveの個人ガイドを独り占めだったのですから、こんなラッキーなことはありません！

夕食の準備を手伝ったりもしました。これは別にやる必要はなかったのですが、私自らすすんで申し出たのです。料理を手伝ううちに、また新しいフランス語を学ぶことができました。夕食には大勢で食卓を囲みました。毎晩とても楽しい時間を過ごし、生徒達は皆夕食の席で学んだフランス語を使うよう懸命に努力しました。この時間はまるで皆が一つの大家族のような感じでした。ニースでの日々はあっという間に過ぎてしまいましたが、この経験は本当に心に残るものとなり、フランス語を習得し、フランスの生活スタイルを体感できる絶好の機会でした。私と同じ経験をしてみたい方、是非彼女のレッスンを受けてみてください！

私は２週間Genevièveのフランス語レッスンを受けました。彼女のお陰で滞在初日からまるで自分の家のようにリラックスすることができました。レッスンでは私の不得意なテーマや文法について集中的に学習しました。Genevièveは毎回私のレベルに沿ったレッスンをしてくれました。このような授業スタイルは個人レッスンの大きなメリットだと思います。

滞在中は毎朝７時に起床し、Genevièveと一緒に地中海に泳ぎに行きました。午後には、彼女とニース近郊に小旅行に出かけたりしました。町中を歩いてニースの素晴らしい景色を楽しみました。また、滞在中何度かガイド付きウォーキングツアーに参加しましたが、このツアーのお陰でニースの歴史に対する知識がより深まり、実用的なフランス語により慣れ親しむことができました。ニースは、St Tropez, Cannes, Antibes, Juan-Les-Pins, Monacoといった素晴らしい見所に囲まれており、退屈することがありませんでした。

私は仕事でチュニジア、モロッコ、アルジェリアの顧客と接する機会があり、そのためフランス語の習得が必要でした。フランス語上達のため上司にフランス語コースの受講を勧められ、本コースを受けるに至りました。Genevièveと過ごした２週間、多くの新しい表現を学び、使える単語が増えました。コース受講前と比べて文法にも自信がつき、前よりずっとスムーズに顧客とコミュニケーションできるようになりました。２週間あっという間に過ぎてしまい、帰国前にはあと最低２週間ステイしたいなぁという気持ちでした。帰国の日は本当に悲しかったです。－Genevièveと過ごした２週間は、生涯忘れられない思い出です！

私は７週間Genevièveの家でフランス語レッスンを受けました。この７週間を通じて、私達の間には素晴らしい友情が芽生えました。彼女にはフランス語教師としての生まれ持った素質があります。加えて彼女はいつでも生徒に対して優しく、生徒が理解するまで忍耐強く教えてくれます。

週日は毎日３時間のフランス語レッスンを受けました。Genevièveは私のレベルや目標に合わせたプログラムを組んでくれ、各レッスンが関連し、又やりがいのあるものになるように、私の上達を継続的にチェックしてくれました。例えば難易度の高い作品を読めるレベルまでリーディングが上達した段階で、Le Mondeに挑戦する・・というように。Le Mondeはとても楽しめる上に、教材としても大変優れており、ネイティブでなければ見逃してしまうであろうニュアンスを理解する上でとても役立ちました。

フランス語の授業だけでなく、Genevièveの暖かいホスピタリティーにも心からお礼を言いたいと思います。彼女の家に着いた瞬間から、まるで自分の家にいるかのような居心地のよさでした。Genevièveの娘Maudも優しく、いつも困った時に助けてくれました。私のベッドルームはとても可愛らしく、猫まで私を歓迎してくれているようでした。みんなと過ごした食事の時間も忘れられない思い出です。味が最高だったのは言うまでもありませんが、この時間は貴重な会話の時間であり、いつも笑いが絶えませんでした。 Genevièveと過ごした時間は生涯の思い出です。彼女の素晴らしい授業とホームステイの環境のお陰で、私のフランス語は飛躍的に上達しました。しかしこの滞在を通して生涯の友情を築けたということが、何よりの収穫だったと思います。

世界で一番すばらしい環境の中で、私は最高の日々をニースで過ごすことが出来ました！！！フランス人と同じように生活していたために、私のフランス語は非常に上達しました。又、お料理は正に絶品でした。ジュヌヴィエーヴはすばらしい料理人ですよ。アパルトマン（宿泊先）はニースの中心地で、海にも駅にもお店にも旧市街地にも、全てに近く本当に便利です！

アパルトマンは広く、すぐにくつろぐことが出来ました。ジュヌヴィエーヴはすばらしい先生で、次の機会があれば、すぐにでも彼女の家に戻りたいです。というのも今回、私は忘れることの出来ない経験が出来たからです。

本当に有難うございました！

私は初めフランス文学に魅了され、美しい言語であるフランス語を学ぼうと決意しました。 授業を受ける時間がなかったため、独学しました。数年後、私はフランス語をかなり読み理解することは出来ても、話すことが出来ないと気づきました。

それを克服するためのただ一つの方法は、数週間フランスで生活し、フランス人家庭に滞在することでした。私はニースの中心街に大変快適で静かなアパルトマンを持っておられる、すばらしい先生を見つけることが出来ました。

授業の時だけではなく、一日中間違いを直してくださる先生の存在はかけがえのないものです。そして全ては先生の個性により、更に彩り豊かになっていくのです・・・

Geneviève、Maudの暖かいもてなしのお陰で、滞在中とてもリラックスすることができました。そして私にとってニース滞在は生涯忘れられない経験となりました。私は滞在中自分が外国人や観光客であることを忘れてしまっていました。だって彼女達は私の友達みたいな存在でしたから。それに、滞在中彼女達の優しい友達や家族とも知り合うことができました。私はGraz大学でフランス語と英語を学んでおり、フランス語を学ぶにあたってフランスの生活スタイルを経験してみたいと思っていました。この滞在を通して、「勉強している」という意識なしに、楽しみながらフランス語の知識を増やすことができました。Genevièveのフランス語は地中海訛りがないので、大学で学んだままのフランス語の発音を学ぶことができました。このコースのお陰で大学のフランス語のテストに合格できましたし、個人的にも貴重な経験が沢山できました。この滞在を通して、ホテルに滞在している観光客には決して味わえないニース周辺特有の文化や景色を体感することができました。

もう一つ忘れてはならないのがGenevièveの素晴らしい料理の腕前です。みんなで囲む食卓は本当に楽しい時間でした。私は今でもメールでGenevièveと連絡を取っています。フランス語で困ったときには、彼女はいつでも助けてくれます。私がすでに３回も彼女のコースを受講し、絶対にまた受講しようと思っている、ということから、私がどんなにここでの滞在を楽しんだかがおわかりいただけると思います。

僕は最初Genevièveのアパートに３週間滞在の予定でしたが、最終的にニースでの滞在を２週間延長しました。彼女と過ごした時間は生涯忘れられない思い出となりました（僕の滞在のあと、Genevièveは１年もの長期休暇をとらなければならなかったんですが・・・）。当初の滞在予定は３週間でしたが、レッスンが進み多くの事を吸収するうちに滞在を延長したいと思い、Genevièveの家ではなかったのですが、ニースでの滞在を２週間延長しました。

最初の３週間は、レッスンのうち２時間を、教材を使った単語や文法に重点を置いて勉強しました。このレッスンを通して僕のフランス語は完璧になったと実感しています。Genevièveのフランス語は、一字一句明確に理解できます。僕の祖母は全くフランス語がわかりませんが、彼女でさえ（ジェスチャーをまじえながらではありましたが）Genevièveのフランス語が理解できるようになったほどです。ニースや近郊の小さな村々へ小旅行にも出かけ、これらの土地柄についても少し知ることができました。滞在中に沢山のフランス人と出会い、同じ年代の友達もできました。Genevièveは、僕がリラックスできるように、本当にいつもあたたかくもてなしてくれました。

いつも彼女の買い物について行ったり、料理を手伝ったりしました。そうそう、Genevièveは料理の腕前も素晴らしいんですよ！もし彼女が今の仕事をしていなくて、長い休暇をとらなければ、今すぐにでもレストランのシェフになれると思います。 彼女の料理の腕前があまりにも素晴らしいので、僕は出される食事を拒めず少し体重が増えてしまいました。今、このレポートをGenevièveと食べる最後の夕食の前に書いています。明日St Petersbougに帰らなければならないのが本当に残念です。将来絶対にまたここに戻って来たいです。

私はGenevièveの暖かい歓迎をうけ、彼女の家でとても素晴らしい時間を過ごしました。Genevièveは私がくつろげるように精一杯もてなしてくれ、お陰で本当に家族の一員になったような気分を味わうことができました。一緒に食べた食事や小旅行は忘れられない思い出です。レッスンでは大学のオーラルのテストに向けてGenevièveのアドバイスを受け、彼女のお陰で準備万端です。

最初ニースのGenevièveのアパートに着いたとき、僕はとても緊張していました。ニースに２週間も滞在し、フランス語を勉強するということに対して不安な気持ちでいっぱいだったのです。でも、Geneviève の暖かいもてなしのお陰で、僕のそんな不安はすぐに吹き飛んでしまいました。とてもリラックスした雰囲気で、外出も自由にできました。滞在中は毎日午前中に３時間フランス語レッスンを受けました。時には一緒に外出し、見所いっぱいの素晴らしい場所を訪れました。また、この滞在を通して出会った素晴らしい人々のお陰で、誰とでも自信をもってフランス語を話せるようになりました。 食事については言うまでもありません！バラエティーに富んだメニューはどれも最高の味でした。これら全ての経験のお陰で、この滞在は僕にとって生涯忘れられない思い出になりました。
